BRENHAM FIRE DEPT. RESPONDS TO TWO CALLS WEDNESDAY

The Brenham Fire Department responded to a pair of calls on Wednesday.

At 12:15 p.m., the department was dispatched to the Social Security Office, 2901 Victory Lane, for a fire investigation.  Units arrived on location to find a small area that had been burned and a small area smoking.  They used water to fully extinguish the fire before returning to service.

Just before 3:30 p.m., firefighters were called to a report of a transportation incident with entrapment in the 15100 block of Highway 290 West.  Brenham units and Burton volunteer firefighters arrived to find a two-vehicle accident with no entrapment but fluids leaking.  BFD members checked on the 18-wheeler, but no leak was found, while Burton firefighters used dry absorbent on the spill.  The Brenham Fire Department returned to service, while the Burton department stayed at the scene until the roadway was cleared.
