TWO PEOPLE ARRESTED SUNDAY

Two people were arrested Sunday by Brenham Police.

They report that Sunday morning at 9:45, Corporal Tina Bruno responded to a call regarding a suspicious vehicle in the 2900 block of Wood Ridge Boulevard. Jessica Malynn Nichols, 35 of New Ulm, was placed under arrest for four active warrants out of Burleson County, Manufacturing or Delivery of a Controlled Substance between 4 grams and 200 grams, Escape, Tampering W/ Fabricating Physical Evidence, and Possession of a Controlled Substance.  She was additionally booked in for Possession of a Controlled Substance, Possession of Marijuana less than 2 oz, Resist Arrest, Search or Transport, and Failure to ID, Fugitive Intent Give False Info. Nichols was transported to the Washington County Jail and released to staff.

Then Sunday night at 9:35, Officer Vieceli initiated a traffic stop at the 2200 block of Highway 290 West for a vehicle violation. The vehicle fled but eventually came to a stop at the 3600 block of Highway 290 West. The driver, Nelson Jose Torres-Lopez, 23 of Houston, resisted and assaulted officers. Torres-Lopez was placed in custody for Assaulting a Peace Officer or Judge, Fleeing, Resisting Arrest, and Possession of Marijuana less than 2 oz.
