BRENHAM FIRE DEPARTMENT RESPONDED TO FOUR CALLS ON FRIDAY

The Brenham Fire Department responded to four calls on Friday.

The first call came in 11:20am.  Brenham Firefighters were sent to an alarm in the 4000 Block of Highway 36 South.

BFD members made location, and found that the alarm company was working on the alarm system.  Firefighters cleared the scene and returned to service.

The next call came in at 1:35pm. Brenham Firefighters along with mutual aid from the Salem Volunteer Fire Department were dispatched to a grass fire located on the 1700 Block of Randle Hill Road.

Both departments worked to extinguish the fire, and then returned to service.

Then, they had a call around 2:30pm for a motor vehicle collision on the 300 Block of Highway 290 West.  BFD Units made the scene, and found a two-vehicle crash. Firefighters checked for fluid mitigation, which was not needed, and then waited for Brenham Police to arrive on the scene before they cleared the area.

The final call came in at 8:35pm on the 1800 Block of Chappell Hill Street. The Brenham Fire Department was dispatched to a possible structure fire report. However, when they arrived on the scene, instead of a structure fire, BFD members found a tree limb that had fallen on to power lines, causing the transformer to go out.  They stood by until the City of Brenham Electrical Department made the scene, and then returned to service.
