One of William Shakespeare’s famous plays will be coming to the stage for three days of performances this weekend.

Students from Shakespeare at Winedale’s “Camp Shakespeare” summer camp will be performing, “A Midsummer Night’s Dream.”

“A Midsummer Night’s Dream” is a comedy that is believed to have been written by Shakespeare in 1595 or 1596.

It revolves around the celebration of the wedding between Duke Theseus of Athens, and the Amazon Queen, Hippolyta.

The play is under the direction of Robin Grace Soto.

The cast will be performing on Friday at 3pm at the Crystal Theatre in Gonzales, Saturday at 3pm at the LaGrange ISD Performing Arts Center in La Grange, and Sunday at 2pm at the Winedale Theatre Barn in Winedale.

Tickets are $10 for adults, while children 12 and under get in for free. They can be paid for at the door by cash, check, or card.

Reservations are recommended, but not required. If you would like to reserve your seats, send an e-mail to robingracesoto@utexas.edu.

“Camp Shakespeare” is a two-week, University of Texas at Austin residential summer camp that is dedicated to exploring Shakespeare through performance.

It is open to youth ages 11-16.

The Camp will have another session in July in which they will perform the play “The Tempest.”
