The National Champion Blinn Buccaneers have an assistant coaching vacancy on their staff.

Associate Head Coach Eric Weaver has been named as the new Head Baseball Coach of the San Jacinto Ravens.

Weaver has been with Blinn for the last two seasons where he also served as pitching coach, third base coach, co-recruiting coordinator, and athletic advisor to three men’s sports.

As a member of Coach Dusty Hart’s staff, Blinn won its first ever baseball National Championship this past season with a 47-17 record. The Bucs beat the Ravens 2-1 in the Super Regional to advance to Grand Junction.

Weaver returns to San Jacinto where he had spent eight years as the pitching coach, co-recruiting coordinator, and as the team’s academic advisor.  During those eight seasons, they made six appearances in the NJCAA World Series, finished National Runner-Up twice, and captured six Region XIV Titles.

Weaver takes the place of long time coach Tom Arrington, who resigned back in December. According to a report by KHOU-TV, the Hall of Famer wanted time to recover from a back injury. Assistant Coach David Wood served as interim head coach this past season.
