GAS PRICES DOWN FOR LABOR DAY
The Labor Day holiday is bringing with it some cheaper gas prices.
According to the AAA Texas Weekend Gas Watch, the statewide average for a gallon of regular unleaded fuel is $2.90. That price is down 5 cents from last week, 20 cents from last month and 52 cents from this time last year.
In Brenham, prices from reporting gas stations average out to $2.99, with a low of $2.81 and a high of $3.36.
Across the state’s metropolitan areas, drivers in El Paso are paying the most on average at $3.36, while drivers in Laredo are spending the least at $2.73.
Nationwide, the average price per gallon sits at $3.33, 3 cents less than a week ago, 16 cents less than last month, and 49 cents cheaper than a year ago.
According to AAA, domestic travel over Labor Day weekend is projected to be up 9 percent compared to last year. International travel is expected to be down 4 percent.
