TWO CALLS TUESDAY FOR BRENHAM FIRE DEPT.

The Brenham Fire Department responded to two calls on Tuesday.

Shortly before 2:15 p.m., firefighters were dispatched to Highway 36 North and Blue Bell Road for a vehicle fire.  They arrived on location to find light smoke coming from the brake area of an 18-wheeler.  No fire was found, and the driver stated he was having brake issues.

Around 5 p.m., units went out to Del Sol Food Company Shipping, 3151 South Blue Bell Road, for an alarm sounding.  When they arrived, they found nothing showing from the exterior of the building.  An employee advised that the alarm went off due to him filling the sprinkler system back up.  No smoke or fire was found, and the department reset the alarm.

BFD members also traveled around the city for National Night Out, visiting 10 block parties.
