TWO PEOPLE ARRESTED ON WARRANTS

  

Two people were arrested on active warrants Wednesday and early Thursday.

Brenham Police report that Wednesday night at 11:00, Officer Garrett Downs conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle in the 500 block of South Chappell Hill Street for an equipment violation. Investigation revealed that, the driver Cliffton Jones, 40 of Somerville, had an active warrant for Violation of Probation, Aggravated Assault Causing Serious Bodily Injury. Jones was placed in custody and was transported to the Washington County Jail where he was booked in for his active warrant.

Then early Thursday morning at 5:45, Officers responded to a suspicious vehicle call. Officers were able to locate the vehicle in the 1500 block of FM 389.  After further investigation, the driver, who was identified as Ramon Martinez, 31 of Brenham, was placed in custody for an active warrant, Driving While License Invalid, Assault Family Violence and for Interference with Emergency Request for Assistance.
