BURTON PANTHERS CRUSH SNOOK 55-0

The Burton Panther Football Team scored early and often as they made quick work of the Snook Blue Jays 55-0 on Friday night.

In the first quarter, Trent Unger intercepted a pass and returned it 31 yards for a touchdown. The extra point was missed, but Burton was still ahead 6-0.

A little later in the quarter, Kayden Patterson scored on an 8-yard run, and D'mitry Schulte hit the extra point to give the Panthers a 13-0 lead.

Burton got the second quarter started off with Patterson throwing a 29-yard touchdown pass to Drayton Oakes. Maleek Bibby ran in the two-point conversion to increase the Panther advantage to 21-0.

Rueben Rodriguez would then score the first of his three touchdowns on a three-yard run. Schulte added the extra point to make it 28-0.

Patterson rounded out the first half scoring with a 38-yard touchdown run, and Schulte added another PAT to put Burton up 35-0 going into the locker room at half time.

The third quarter began with Rodriguez scoring on a 3-yard touchdown run. Schulte kicked the extra point and gave the Panthers a 42-0 lead.

Brady Griffin got in on the act with a 23-yard touchdown run. Schulte added the extra point to increase the score to 49-0.

Burton would get one more touchdown on a 72-yard run by Rodriguez. Schulte missed the extra point, but the Panthers had already sealed the deal 55-0.

Next week, Burton is scheduled to face the Somerville Yeguas on Friday at 7pm. Somerville is coming off of a 41-33 win over Iola. The game was scheduled to be played at Panther Stadium in Burton, but it is not ready yet, so they are looking for an alternate site.
