TEXAS CZECH HERITAGE FESTIVAL & MUZIKY IN LA GRANGE FRIDAY, SATURDAY
The Texas Czech Heritage Festival and Muziky is set for this weekend in La Grange.
The Texas Czech Heritage and Cultural Center will host the two-day festival on Friday and Saturday. Among the activities planned are Czech heritage demonstrations, tours of the Czech village, wagon rides, arts and crafts, a beer garden, antique car and tractor shows, and live music performances.
Friday will open the festival with the KJT Octoberfest on the Deck at 4:30 p.m. Chicken and dumplings will be served beginning at 5:30 p.m., with music by the Dujka Brothers from 6 to 9:30 p.m.
Saturday kicks off at 10 a.m. with opening ceremonies, making way for music all day long from the Moravians, the Praha Brothers and the CzechMates Trio with Alfred Vrazel.
Saturday will round out with the Muziky, Muziky event at the Sanford Schmid Amphitheater from 7 to 9:30 p.m. The performance will feature the re-creation of the famous Baca Orchestra and a fireworks finale sponsored by H-E-B.
Admission is free on Friday and during the day on Saturday. Entrance to Saturday evening’s show is $15, and tickets can only be purchased at the gate.
