12 PEOPLE PLEAD GUILTY IN DISTRICT COURT

  

12 people plead guilty in District Court this week and were sentenced by Judge Reva Towslee Corbett.

Dayronn Clyde McCowan, Jr., 25 of Brenham was sentenced to 3 years in prison for Assault of a Family Member with a Previous Conviction.

Detra Latay Mitchell, 48 of Brenham, was sentenced to 15 months in State Jail for 2 counts of Theft of Property less than $2500 with 2 or more Previous Convictions.  She was also ordered to pay $293 in restitution.

Jessie James Andrews, 64 of Brenham, was sentenced to 6 months in State Jail for Theft of Property less than $2500 with 2 or more Previous Convictions.

Humberto Garcia Ponce, 30 of Rosharon, was sentenced to 166 days in the Washington County Jail for Theft of Property between $2500 and $30,000.

Joshua Bryan, 33 of Brenham, was sentenced to 8 years’ probation for Possession of a Controlled Substance.  He was also sentenced ordered to pay a $500 fine and perform 100 hours community service.  He was also sentenced to 3 years’ probation for Attempted Tampering with Physical Evidence. 

Melody Reese, 32 of Brenham, was sentenced to 7 years deferred adjudication probation for Injury to a Child causing Serious Bodily Injury or Death. She was also ordered to pay a $1000 fine and perform 250 hours of community service. 

David Anthony Flores, 28 of Cleveland, was sentenced to 7 years deferred adjudication probation for Possession of a Controlled Substance.  He was also ordered to pay a $500 fine and perform 100 hours of community service.

Nakeshia Deshun Watkins, 36 of Brenham, was sentenced to 5 years’ probation for Possession of a Controlled Substance.  She was also ordered to pay a $500 fine and perform 100 hours of community service.

Ramsey Lee Randall, Jr., 32 of Brenham, was sentenced to 5 years’ probation for Unlawful Possession of a Firearm by a Felon. He was also ordered to pay a $500 fine and perform 100 hours of community service.

Anthony Lee Vela, 35 of Brenham, was sentenced to 5 years’ probation for Possession of a Controlled Substance.  He was also ordered to pay a $500 fine and perform 100 hours community service.

Bryan Matthew Johnson, 51 of Baytown, was sentenced to 4 years deferred adjudication probation for Possession of a Controlled Substance.  He was also ordered to pay a $500 fine and perform 100 hours of community service.

Craig Andrew Peldo, 37 of Austin, was sentenced to 3 years’ probation for Fraudulent Possession or Use of a Credit or Debit Card.  He was also ordered to pay a $500 fine and perform 100 hours of community service.

  1. Seven year’s probation for injury to a child? I can’t believe the judge even let this slide. What’s wrong with the jury? Do they only think this happens to other peoples kids. This is Texas not NY. Sooo disappointed. Why didn’t you just slap their hand?

    1. I don’t think a jury was involved. The headline says the defendant pled guilty. The ready of your comments have merit.

    2. The article states that the person was sentenced to “7 years deferred adjudication probation” which means this person will not be going to prison. She will be paying a fine and doing community service. I would have to assume that the injury was not severe and that hopefully, the judge had some basic facts about the case before deciding to approve this plea deal.
