WASHINGTON CO. APPRAISAL DISTRICT BOARD APPROVES CONTRACTS FOR COMPLEX, BUSINESS PERSONAL PROPERTY APPRAISALS

The Washington County Appraisal District Board of Directors on Tuesday approved contracts for complex property and business personal property appraisals.

The complex property contract is with Capitol Appraisal Group, Inc. out of Austin and will include mineral, industrial and utility property in Washington County for the appraisal years 2025-2027.  Chief Appraiser Dyann White said online data will be made available to property owners as next year’s appraisals are released.

The yearly cost is $68,000 for 2025, $70,000 in 2026 and $72,000 in 2027.  White said the appraisal district’s previous contract was $78,000 per year and was set to increase next year.

The business personal property contract, also with Capitol Appraisal Group, was renewed for 2025 at a cost of $20,000.  White said the district hopes to bring business personal property appraisals back in-house once it can budget for additional staff members.

The board will meet again on Wednesday at 10 a.m. in the appraisal district office at 1301 Niebuhr Street in Brenham.  The topic of the called meeting is to receive the 2022-23 audit conducted by Seidel Schroeder.  The audit was not ready in time for the most recent meeting.
