TWO CALLS THURSDAY FOR CHAPPELL HILL VFD

The Chappell Hill Volunteer Fire Department was called out twice on Thursday.

Just before 2:45 p.m., volunteers were dispatched to a reported illegal burning in the 3000 block of Bueno Drive.  They arrived and found a homeowner burning grass and weeds around a pond.  The property owner was notified of the burn ban, and units extinguished the fire.  Once the fire was out, the homeowner was left with law enforcement.

Shortly after 8 p.m., the department responded to the area of Chappell Hill RV Resort, 7791 FM 2447, for a smoke investigation.  Personnel searched the area attempting to find smoke, but they were unable to locate any smoke, so they cleared the call.
