BURTON SCHOOL BOARD TO MEET MONDAY

The Burton School Board will hold its next regular meeting on Monday.

The meeting will open with recognition of students participating in extracurricular activities, including the football and volleyball teams.

In action items, the board will act upon the district’s 2023-24 audit report.

Next, the board will take up a resolution for legal action regarding construction damages and breach of contract.

No additional details on the item were listed on the agenda.  Superintendent Vikki Curry told KWHI that she would have more information once the meeting has taken place.

In August, trustees approved a resolution authorizing the superintendent to not pay invoices to DSA Inc., the former construction manager agent for the bond project.  The resolution stated that Burton ISD has received invoices from DSA that the company claims are past due, but there is a dispute between the two entities over the goods delivered or services performed.

Another item will be discussion and consideration of homeschool students participating in extracurricular activities.

An executive session is planned to consult with an attorney and to discuss personnel, as well as the implementation of security personnel.

The board will meet Monday at 6 p.m. in the Burton ISD cafeteria.
