BURTON FFA PLACES 5TH AT STATE CONTEST

The Burton FFA Greenhand Skills Team placed among the best of the best at a state contest this past weekend.

The team, consisting of Lena Ruemke, Laci Broesche, Kinley Frank, Natalie Hodde and Lexi Broesche, competed on Saturday at the Texas FFA State Leadership Development Events (LDE) Contest at Sam Houston State University.  Burton FFA finished in fifth place. 

Students had 20 minutes to demonstrate an agricultural skill to the judges.  Members of the Burton team demonstrated how to make fresh deer sausage. 

A total of 262 teams participated in the Greenhand Skills contest.
