ONE CALL MONDAY, ONE EARLY TUESDAY FOR BRENHAM FIRE DEPT.

The Brenham Fire Department responded to one call on Monday and another call early this (Tuesday) morning.

Around 5:15 p.m. Monday, firefighters went out to the Brenham State Supported Living Center, 4001 Highway 36 South, for a fire alarm.  While enroute, dispatch advised that smoke was inside the building.  Units arrived and found that someone had put paper in the microwave, causing the smoke.  The department cleared the smoke and assisted in resetting the alarm system.

Shortly after 1:30 a.m. today, personnel were called to a residence in the 500 block of Green Street for a report of smoke coming from the heater.  Upon arrival, they found the next-door occupant had burnt food, causing the smell to be dispersed next door.  No action was needed.
