WASHINGTON CO. SHERIFF’S OFFICE ARRESTS TWO OVER WEEKEND

  

The Washington County Sheriff’s Office made one arrest on Friday for an assault warrant and another on Sunday for criminal trespassing.

Approaching 1:15 p.m. Friday, Sergeant Corey Himebaugh, Corporal Rosa Salinas and Corporal Adam Zavala conducted a warrant service in the 7800 block of Ellermann Road.  29-year-old David Richard Groves of Franklin was taken into custody on an arrest warrant for Aggravated Assault with a Deadly Weapon – Family Violence out of Robertson County.  Groves was transported to the Washington County Jail for booking.

Around 6:45 a.m. Sunday, deputies were dispatched to the 8900 block of Highway 290 East in reference to a criminal trespass complaint.  Deputies located 58-year-old Joe Lee Phillips of Brenham on the premises, where the sheriff’s office says he had an active Criminal Trespass warning.  Phillips was arrested and transported to the Washington County Jail, where he was booked in and charged with Criminal Trespass.
