The Blinn College men's basketball team suffered a 73-61 Region XIV road loss to Coastal Bend College on Wednesday in Beeville, Texas.

The setback ended the Buccaneers' streak of three consecutive region wins and dropped them to 10-10 overall and 6-6 in region play.

Blinn never quite got going against the Cougars, falling behind 40-25 at halftime while trailing by 20 points multiple times in the second half.

"Coastal Bend played really good basketball tonight, so give credit to them because they deserved the win," Bucs head coach Scott Schumacher said. "They had juice tonight; we just didn't have any juice."

Blinn managed to trim its deficit to eight points in the second half but couldn't pull any closer.

On the night, sophomore guard Reese Miller tallied a team-high 26 points and four assists to go with seven rebounds. Sophomore forward Anthony Isaac registered his ninth double-double of the season with 13 points and 10 rebounds.

Blinn gets back to work when it hosts No. 8 Panola College in a region showdown at 4 p.m. on Saturday at the Kruse Center in Brenham, Texas.
