SHERIFF’S OFFICE MAKES ARRESTS FOR DRUG, MARIJUANA POSSESSION

  

The Washington County Sheriff’s Office reports three arrests between Monday and Tuesday.

Around 10 p.m. Monday, Corporal Salinas initiated a traffic stop on Sycamore Street for disregarding a stop sign.  During contact with the driver, Corporal Salinas reported observing a white powdery substance in the floorboard that tested positive for cocaine.  The driver, 53-year-old Terrence Jerome Coleman of Brenham, was taken into custody and transported to the Washington County Jail.  He was charged with Possession of a Controlled Substance Penalty Group 1, Less Than a Gram, along with a local warrant for Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.

Nearing 11:15 a.m. Tuesday, Deputy Martinez was dispatched to the 4300 block of Highway 290 West regarding an intoxicated person.  Upon arrival, the suspect, identified as 47-year-old Rusty Dillon Smith of Eunice, New Mexico, was placed under arrest for Public Intoxication.  During a routine search, Deputy Martinez reported locating marijuana and paraphernalia in Smith’s vehicle.  Smith was transported to the Washington County Jail and charged with Possession of Marijuana Less Than 2oz., Public Intoxication and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.

Shortly before 3:45 p.m., Deputy Holmes was dispatched to the 100 block of West Main Street regarding a person with an active warrant.  33-year-old Ashley Michelle Taylor of Brenham was found to be wanted out of McLennan County for Motion to Revoke Probation – Possession of a Controlled Substance Penalty Group 1, 4-200 Grams.  The warrant was confirmed, and Taylor was transported to the Washington County Jail and booked without incident.
