SHERIFF’S OFFICE MAKES WEEKEND ARRESTS FOR DRUG POSSESSION, TERRORISTIC THREAT, ASSAULT
The Washington County Sheriff’s Office reports six arrests between Saturday and Sunday.
Shortly after 6:30 p.m. Saturday, Deputy Faske initiated a traffic stop in the 9400 block of Lueckemeyer Road for defective tail lamps. The driver reportedly did not have a valid driver’s license and was found to have local active warrants. 25-year-old Deasha Nicole Daniels of Brenham was taken into custody and transported to the Washington County Jail. Daniels was charged with Motion to Revoke Probation - Possession of Marijuana Less Than 2oz. and Motion to Revoke Probation – Fraud Destroy Concealment Writing.
Just past 10:15 p.m., Corporal Salinas conducted a traffic stop in the 1900 block of Highway 105 for expired registration. Upon further investigation, the vehicle was searched and a powdery substance was located. The sheriff’s office says the substance tested positive for cocaine, and the driver, 29-year-old Dagoberto Montes Gutierrez of Brenham, was taken into custody. The passenger, 41-year-old Marco Antonio Lopez Mercado of Brenham, was also taken into custody for an active warrant. Both were transported to the Washington County Jail for booking. Gutierrez was charged with Possession of a Controlled Substance Penalty Group 1, Less Than a Gram, and Prohibited Substance in a Correctional Facility. Mercado was charged with Failure to Maintain Financial Responsibility.
Approaching 11:45 p.m., Corporal Zavala made a traffic stop in the 1300 block of East Blue Bell Road for a defective headlamp. The sheriff’s office reported that the driver displayed signs of intoxication and, after further investigation, was taken into custody and transported to the Washington County Jail. 45-year-old Shoulanda Sherie Nash of Brenham was charged with Driving While Intoxicated and No Driver’s License.
On Sunday, around 1 a.m., deputies responded to a weapon-involved situation in the 6000 block of Langhorn Road. Once at the scene, deputies identified the suspect as 22-year-old Canyon Slade Whitley of Marble Falls. After conducting numerous interviews, the sheriff’s office took Whitley into custody and transported him to the Washington County Jail, where he was charged with Terroristic Threat Causing Fear of Imminent Serious Bodily Injury.
At 6 p.m., deputies responded to a disturbance in the 9500 block of FM 50. Upon arrival, the victim advised that her boyfriend had allegedly grabbed her and thrown her to the ground. 24-year-old Jose Andres Ramirez Garcia of Somerville was placed into custody and charged with Assault Family Violence. The victim was treated and released by EMS at the scene.
