FAYETTE COUNTY DEPUTY PROMOTED TO SERGEANT

Fayette County Sheriff Keith Korenek has announced the promotion of Deputy Duane Meagher to rank of Sergeant.

Sergeant Meagher brings nearly a decade of law enforcement experience to his new role. He has served the Fayette County Sheriff’s Office for the past three years and previously spent nearly seven years with the Schulenburg Police Department.

Meagher is a graduate of the Wharton County Junior College Police Academy, where he earned Salutatorian honors in 2015.

He went on to receive his Associate’s Degree in Criminal Justice from Blinn College and is currently pursuing his Bachelor’s Degree in Criminal Justice at East Texas A&M University.

Sergeant Meagher said that he is thankful for the opportunity to grow within the department and extended his appreciation to his supervisors for their continued trust and support.

He also added that he looks forward to continuing his dedicated service to the citizens of Fayette County.
