SHERIFF’S OFFICE MAKES ARRESTS FOR ASSAULT, ORGANIZED CRIMINAL ACTIVITY, SMUGGLING
The Washington County Sheriff’s Office reports nine arrests between Thursday and Sunday.
Shortly after 9 a.m. Thursday, Corporal Salinas responded to the 100 block of Main Street to take custody of a subject wanted by Gillespie County. 22-year-old Dillon Matt Thomas of Brenham was transported to the Washington County Jail and charged with 11 counts of Motion to Revoke Probation – Smuggling of Persons. At 3 p.m., Deputy Presswood responded to the 100 block of Main Street to take custody of another individual wanted by Gillespie County. 23-year-old Michael Jonathan Cuevas of Brenham was taken to the Washington County Jail, where he was also charged with 11 counts of Motion to Revoke Probation – Smuggling of Persons.
Around 12:15 p.m., Corporal Zavala responded to a disturbance in the 1200 block of Confederate Lane. According to the sheriff’s office, the victim stated her children had been arguing and that her son had punched her in the face. While conducting the investigation, the victim was found to have an active warrant. 35-year-old Kayla Lorraine Mulanax of Brenham was taken into custody and booked at the Washington County Jail for Assault of a Family or Household Member Impeding Breath/Circulation.
Nearing 5:45 p.m., Corporal Vasquez initiated a traffic stop on Highway 290 East near Wonder Hill Road for no front license plate. During the stop, an odor of marijuana was detected, and marijuana was located during a search of the vehicle.
All occupants were taken into custody and transported to the Washington County Jail, including: 17-year-old Marcus Garrett of Houston, charged with No Driver’s License and Possession of Marijuana Under 2oz.; 17-year-old Devin Mottley of Houston, charged with Possession of Marijuana Under 2oz.; and 22-year-old James Kameron Pitre of Houston, for Possession of Marijuana Under 2oz., Failure to Identify Giving False/Fictitious Information, Parole Violation, Engaging in Organized Criminal Activity out of Dallas County, and charges out of Harris County for Engaging in Organized Criminal Activity and Theft of Property ATM Less Than $300,000.
Just shy of 7:45 p.m. Friday, deputies responded to a welfare concern of a female passed out in a vehicle in the 2400 block of Old Masonic Road. The sheriff’s office says the female admitted to possessing narcotics that were located during a search of the vehicle. 27-year-old Aaliyah Janee Wheatfall of Washington was transported to the Washington County Jail and charged with Possession of a Controlled Substance Penalty Group 1, Less Than a Gram, Possession of Marijuana Under 2oz. and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.
Close to 9:15 p.m. Saturday, Deputy Martinez responded to a report of a reckless driver near Highway 36 North and FM 1948. The vehicle was located and the driver was taken into custody for local warrants. 31-year-old Myles Dewayne Curl of Houston was transported to the Washington County Jail for Display/Expired Registration, Failure to Appear, Failure to Maintain Financial Responsibility and No Driver’s License.
Around 10:30 p.m. Sunday, Deputy Faske responded to a suspicious person in the 4600 block of Old Chappell Hill Road. Contact was made with a male subject, identified as 46-year-old Reginald Hodgie McCoy of Brenham, who was taken into custody on active warrants. McCoy was transported to the Washington County Jail and charged with Parole Violation - Assault of a Family/Household Member with Previous Conviction, No Seat Belt and Failure to Maintain Financial Responsibility.
