TWO ASSAULT ARRESTS AMONG SIX BOOKINGS FOR SHERIFF’S OFFICE

  

The Washington County Sheriff’s Office arrested six people between Thursday and early this (Monday) morning.

Around 11 p.m. Thursday, Corporal Salinas initiated a traffic stop for a defective headlamp in the 2200 block of Highway 290 East.  While speaking to the occupants of the vehicle, a passenger admitted to being in possession of marijuana.  After the marijuana was seized, 30-year-old Donald Goree Thomas-Shephard III of Houston was taken into custody and transported to the Washington County Jail for Possession of Marijuana Under 2oz. and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.

At 2:45 p.m. Friday, Corporal Crosby conducted a traffic stop in the 2900 block of Victory Lane for an equipment violation.  The driver, 45-year-old Jason Adrian Coats of Spring, had a suspended license and was taken to the Washington County Jail for Driving While License Invalid Enhanced.

Just shy of 11:45 p.m., Deputy Faske conducted a traffic stop for speeding in the 6300 block of FM 50.  The sheriff’s office says the driver, 44-year-old Derron Dante Flowers of Navasota, had two local warrants for Driving While License Invalid and Use of Equipment Not Approved.  Flowers was transported to the Washington County Jail.

At 2:15 a.m. Saturday, deputies responded to a disturbance in the 3800 block of Ben Franklin Lane.  Upon arrival, the caller reportedly told deputies that her son had assaulted her and damaged items in her residence.  After further investigation, 59-year-old Tom Nelson Smith of Washington was taken into custody and booked in at the Washington County Jail for Assault Family Violence.

At 11:45 p.m., Sergeant Janes-Busse conducted a traffic stop in the 3700 block of Highway 36 for no front license plate.  Upon making contact, the sheriff’s office detected a strong odor of marijuana, and the driver produced a bag containing a green leafy substance that tested positive for marijuana.  48-year-old Oleg Alexsandrovich Molchanov of Houston was placed under arrest and charged with Possession of Marijuana Under 2oz. and three counts of Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.

Just after 1 a.m. today, deputies responded to a disturbance in the 19000 block of Sweed Road.  According to the sheriff’s office, the victim stated that her girlfriend had assaulted her, resulting in the victim being transported to the hospital for treatment of injuries.  After further investigation, 28-year-old Alineicia Nichole Charna Ewing of Brenham was arrested and transported to the Washington County Jail for Assault Causing Bodily Injury to a Family Member. 

The sheriff’s office also issued a citation on Friday.  A few minutes past 7:30 p.m., Deputy Faske responded to an illegal burn call in the 18800 block of Highway 105.  Upon meeting with the Washington Volunteer Fire Department at the scene, the property owner was issued a citation for Outdoor Burning of Waste - Toxic Material.
