47TH ANNUAL COLORADO COUNTY FAIR OPENS THIS WEEK
The 47th Annual Colorado County Fair and Rodeo will be opening for a three day stretch in Columbus this Thursday thru Saturday.
The festivities began this past weekend with the crowning of the Colorado County Fair Royalty.
Micah Ehlert was named the 2025 Fair Queen, while Natalia Ramirez was the first runner-up and Kaylea McCarthy was the second runner-up.
Rinley Nelson was named as the Junior Queen, while Vivian May was chosen as Junior Miss.
D’Troit Freison was named as Little Mister, while Bristol Kotrla was chosen as Little Miss.
On Thursday evening, they will have the opening ceremony for the Colorado County Fair at 5pm. As part of the ceremony, they will crown the Membership Queen.
Other activities include a goat scramble, team roping, and dwarf wrestling.
On Friday, they will have a youth cook-off, a cornhole tournament, a tractor pull, mutton bustin’, and the PRCA Rodeo. It’s also Tejano Day with music by Projecto Norteno, Jovero, D.J. Luna MTY, and Los Herederos de Nuevo Leon.
The event wraps up on Saturday with the Fair Parade through downtown Columbus at 10am. They will also have the Livestock Judging and Livestock Sale, a BBQ cookoff, a tractor-pull, plus another night of mutton bustin’ and the PRCA Rodeo.
Saturday’s musical entertainment includes the Bandits, Chaser Crouch, the Texas Dream Band, and headlining act, Lonestar. KTEX 106’s Courtney Cartwright will be making an appearance that
