Dr. Brooke Eckermann Mueller and Dr. Brandon Schulte have opened Burton Veterinary Clinic, a full-service mixed-animal practice located at 210 South Railroad Street. The clinic’s first official day of operation was Wednesday.
The clinic will offer comprehensive services for small animals like dogs, cats and other companion pets, as well as large animals like cattle, horses, goats and other livestock.
Dr. Mueller is a Burton native, and Dr. Schulte grew up ranching between Burton and Brenham.
Dr. Mueller said Burton is home for them, and that this clinic is about “providing care for the animals our neighbors depend on.” Dr. Schulte called the agricultural community the “backbone” of Washington County’s local economy and said that this mixed-animal practice allows them to respond more quickly to emergencies, support producers and care for the pets that are part of many families’ lives.
In addition to medical services, the veterinarians say they plan to stay engaged with the local community, from supporting 4-H and FFA students to offering educational outreach and livestock health clinics.
The clinic will share details on a grand opening and ribbon cutting in the coming weeks.
