CUB SOCCER FALLS TO COLLEGE STATION 3-1 IN DISTRICT OPENER

The Brenham Cub Soccer Team lost a hard fought game to the College Station Cougars 3-1 in their district opener at College Station High School on Tuesday night.

Cub Head Coach Craig Boggan told KWHI that he felt like the team played its best game of the year, and had it tied 1-1 in the first half against a really good College Station team.

The Brenham goal was scored by Angel Valadez off of an assist by Josue Andrade.

The Cougars scored a pair of goals in the second half, including one with around two minutes to go to escape with the win.

With the victory, College Station improves to 6-2-1 on the season and 1-0 in district, while the Cubs drop to 3-6, and 0-1 in district.

Brenham is off on Friday due to having a bye. Due to the threat of inclement weather, the rest of the teams in the district have moved their games up to Thursday.

The Cubs are next scheduled to face Montgomery in their first district home game on Tuesday, January 27, at Cub Stadium. The JV play at 5pm, followed by the Varsity at 7pm.
