CUBETTE BASKETBALL SEASON ENDS WITH A 53-50 LOSS TO A&M CONSOLIDATED

For the third time in the last four seasons, the Brenham Cubette Basketball season came down to a play-in game, and once again, it ended in a loss, 53-50 to the A&M Consolidated Lady Tigers.

A&M Consolidated jumped out to the early lead 13-7 in the first quarter. Brenham came alive and dominated the second quarter 19-4, which gave the Cubettes a 26-17 advantage going into the locker rooms at halftime.

The Lady Tigers came back with a big third quarter where they outscored the Cubettes 16-9, which cut the Brenham lead down to 35-33.

Consol finished off the comeback with a 20-15 fourth quarter.

Antyiahna Lang led the way for Brenham with 16 points, while Janiyah Mathis added 12 points.

Brenham's season may have ended, but it was an incredible, one-year turnaround. The Cubettes went from 11-21 overall and 0-12 in district last year to 23-13 overall and 7-5 in district this year.
