CHAPPELL HILL VFD COOKOFF WINNERS ANNOUNCED
The Chappell Hill Volunteer Fire Department held their 22nd Annual Barbecue Cookoff and Fundraiser this past Saturday night.
According to Chappell Hill VFD spokeswoman Marcy Kmiec, the cookoff was very successful with 44 teams participating in this year’s event.
The Overall winning team was the Apalonia Misfits 2,
the Hospitality winners were Los Borrachos,
the No Clue Cookers won the Rib Shootout,
first Place in Brisket went to WTF,
the TCB Cookers won first place in Chicken,
And First Place in Beans went to Beck’s HVAC.
All proceeds from the fundraiser go to support the fire department in acquiring fire and rescue equipment, completing training and certification programs, performing vehicle and apparatus maintenance, ensuring emergency response readiness and coordinating community safety initiatives.
