BRENHAM FD RESPONDS FOR VEHICLE FIRE, DOWNED CABLE
The Brenham Fire Department was called out twice on Wednesday and once early this (Thursday) morning.
Approaching 10:15 a.m. Wednesday, firefighters were dispatched to the 2200 block of South Market Street for a report of cables down in the roadway. They made location to find a cable blocking the whole roadway. The department blocked off South Market Street until the City of Brenham Electric Department was able to pick the cable back up.
At 2:30 p.m., units responded to Brenham Animal Services, 1804 Longwood Drive, for a fire alarm. Nothing was showing from the exterior of the building. They found that a pull station was broken, and the alarm company made location to repair the pull station.
Just past midnight today, BFD personnel were called out for a vehicle fire in the 1700 block of Highway 290 West. They found a vehicle with fire showing from the engine compartment. The department used tank water to extinguish the fire before returning to service.
