REPUBLICANS FILE FOR PRIMARY
The deadline has come and gone for candidates and incumbents to file for the Texas Primaries.
According to Republican Party Chair Ron Upchurch, a long list of candidates have filed for his party’s primaries.
County Judge John Brieden will run unopposed in the Primary.
Also unopposed will be County Commissioner incumbents: Luther Heuske in Precinct-2; and Joy Fuchs in Precinct-4.
Also running unopposed in the primary will be incumbent County Clerk Beth Rothermel; County Treasurer Peggy Kramer and District Clerk Tammy Brauner.
Incubment County Court-at-law Judge Matthew Reue has drawn a fellow Republican opponent, assistant District Attorney Eric Berg.
In the Justice of the Peace races, Precint-1 incumbent Doug Zwiener will run unopposed in the primary; Precinct-2 incumbent Doug Cone will face challenger Dennis Todd; Pecinct-3 incumbent Roy May will face challenge Ken Tofel; And, in Precint-4, where incumbent James McCune is retiring, three candidates will vye for the Republican nomination: Bill Kendall, Val Kiecke and Robin Luedtke.
The list of candidates for Democratic Party nominees are not currently available.
The 2014 Texas Primaries are slated for Tuesday, March 4th.
