BRENHAM FD RESPONDS TO GRASS FIRE, GAS LEAK

  

The Brenham Fire Department was called out twice on Wednesday and again early this (Thursday) morning.

At 4:45 p.m. Wednesday, Brenham units were dispatched along with the Chappell Hill Volunteer Fire Department to the 13000 block of FM 1371 for a report of a grass fire.  Chappell Hill volunteers arrived on location to find a small grass fire and put it out.

Just before 5:15 p.m., BFD personnel responded with the Gay Hill Volunteer Fire Department to the 2600 block of Quarry Road for a gas leak from a tank.  Ultimately, Brenham units cleared the call after the tank was turned off by a hazmat member.

A few minutes past 3:15 a.m. today, firefighters went out to a home in the 1600 block of South Jackson Street for a fire alarm.  Nothing was showing from the outside of the home.  They found a bad detector that caused the alarm to go off, so they informed the homeowner before returning to service.
