SHERIFF’S OFFICE MAKES BOOKINGS FOR DWI, EVADING ARREST

  

The Washington County Sheriff’s Office reported arrests on Wednesday for driving while intoxicated and evasion.

At 4:45 a.m., deputies responded to an abandoned vehicle with its lights on near Highway 36 North and Pledger Road.  Deputies made contact with the driver, who displayed signs of intoxication.  After conducting a field sobriety test, the driver was taken into custody.  65-year-old Sheldon Craig Williams of Houston was transported to the Washington County Jail and charged with Driving While Intoxicated with an Open Container and Unlawful Carrying of a Weapon.

Around 11:15 a.m., Corporal Luis Pizarro attempted a traffic stop at FM 2447 and Sandy Lane on a vehicle that ran a stop sign.  According to the sheriff’s office, the driver evaded but was eventually stopped and taken into custody without further incident.  29-year-old John Anthony Clancy of College Station was booked into the Washington County Jail for Evading Arrest/Detention with a Vehicle, Running a Stop Sign, Unlawful Carrying of a Weapon and Driving While License Invalid.
