BURTON XC AT YEGUA INVITATIONAL

As the Burton XC invitational season draws to a close, the Panthers still find ways to improve. Stepping off the bus at nearby Overlook Park at Lake Somerville, the Lady Panthers started the action off for Burton.

While the Ladies captured only one medal on their way to a 3rd place team finish, the runners did notch four personal records and one season record on the day. Paisley Goldberg (Fr.) finished 5th overall and 1st for the Panthers with a 13:10 two mile time. She was followed by Madeline Dowling (Jr.), whose 13:56 was a season record, Isis Schulte (Fr.), Autumn Applewhite (Jr.) with a 14:14 personal record, and Kinley Frank (Jr.) in scoring.

Rose Nall (Fr.) and Isabella Alvarado (Fr.) completed the team for the Lady Panthers. Additional runners Jessica Strickland (Fr.), Madison Helton (Sr.), and Dani York also set personal records with a 15:59, a 16:57, and a 16:58 respectively. 

The gentlemen took to the course after the ladies, and though they did not capture any medals, they did secure a fourth place team finish, as well as setting four personal records of their own.

The triumvirate of Even Guerrero (So.), Zach Purvis (Jr.), and Klein Rhodes (So.) started the scoring for the Panthers with times of 20:50, 20:51, and 20:51 respectively, with Purvis's time setting a new personal record.

James Jarvis (So.) finished with a personal record time of 22:13 with fellow sophomore Colton Vickers crossing the line moments later to round out the scoring for the Panthers.

Matty Countouriotis (Fr.) finished in 23:02, good for a new personal record and finishing as Burton's first tie-breaker, with Andrew Gonzales serving as the second tie-breaker. Also setting a record on the day was runner Augustus Shuey (So.), whose 26:02 finish was a personal best.

The Panthers will travel back to Shiner's Green-Dickson Park on Saturday, October 3rd for their final invitational race of the season. The Lady Panthers will race first at 8:00am.
