BRENHAM FD RESPONDS TO CRANE FIRE, ACCIDENTS
The Brenham Fire Department was called out four times on Friday.
Just shy of 8:45 a.m., firefighters were dispatched to Alois Lane and Old Chappell Hill Road for a transportation incident. They found a two-vehicle accident with no one hurt and no fluids leaking. The department returned to service once the vehicles were removed from the roadway.
Shortly after 10 a.m., units were called out to the 1500 block of Highway 36 North for a vehicle on fire. They found a crane with smoke and flames showing. Fire department personnel used tank water to extinguish the fire. After all hot spots were out, firefighters cleared the call.
A few minutes after 10:30 a.m., a report of a gas line hit by a contractor was called in from the 1200 block of Pecan Street. The Salem Volunteer Fire Department responded since Brenham units were on the vehicle fire. Upon arrival, volunteers found a two-inch gas line hit. The City of Brenham Gas Department turned off the gas.
Around 1:15 p.m., firefighters went out to a transportation incident at Highway 290 West and Old Mill Creek Road. They located a two-vehicle accident with minor damage, no one hurt and no fluids leaking.
