BURTON CROSS COUNTRY COMPETES IN SHINER INVITATIONAL

The Burton Panthers traveled back to Shiner this past Saturday to take part in their last invitational race of the season. Despite the heavy rains, the course at Green-Dickson Park was in good condition for one last run.
The Lady Panthers ran first and finished 4th as a team in the 1A / 2A division. Paisley Goldberg (Fr.) finished 1st in her division with a 13:00 two mile time and captured one of the two medals the Lady Panthers earned on the day. The second medal was one by Isis Schulte (Fr.), who finished 9th in her division. Also of note for the Lady Panthers was Dani York (Fr.) whose 16:18 two mile time was a personal record.
The Panthers ran second and had a tremendous day. They finished 2nd as a team, with Even Guerrero (So.) capturing a medal for the boys. A number of the men set personal records at the meet. Matthais Countouriotis (Fr.) dropped a 1:22 from the week prior to finish 4th on the team with a 21:40, while James Jarvis (Fr.) bested his previous best by :30 to finish with a 21:42 to round out the top five for the Panthers. Bowen Levlon also bested his previous time by a minute 1:28 to finish with a 21:48.
The Panthers travel to Davidson Creek Park in Caldwell on Wednesday, October 7th, for the District 26AA meet. A combined boys and girls junior varsity race will take place at 8:00am, followed by the varsity girls at 8:30am, and the varsity boys at 9:00am.
