BRENHAM FIRE DEPARTMENT REPORT
On Sunday around 12:15am, the Brenham Fire Department responded to 306 US Highway 290 W, Four Corners Exxon, for a fuel spill. Upon arrival the store employee had already washed the spilled fuel down with a water hose.
BFD used chemicals to clean up the spilled fuel and left the scene with store employee.
On Sunday around 1:00pm, the BFD along with Salem FD responded to 2500 Old Chappell Hill Rd. for a grass fire. Upon arrival BFD found a small grass fire that apparently started from a trash pile that was burning. BFD extinguished the small fire while Salem FD supplied water.
The cause of the fire appeared to be accidental.
Also on Sunday around 9:30pm, BFD responded to 1555 State Highway 36 N. for a powerline arcing. Upon arrival and after investigation, BFD did not find a powerline arcing, but instead found a dead snake on the ground near the pole that appeared to have been electrocuted.
The arcing that a motorist saw possibly came from the snake that was electrocuted on the pole. There was no fire.
