THREE CHARGED WITH D.W.I.’S LOCALLY OVER THE WEEKEND

  

 

Three people face DWI charges after their arrests by Brenham police this past weekend.

Saturday night, officer Jonathan Phipps and Sgt. Curtiss Schoen conducted a traffic stop in the 900 block of S. Austin St.

43-year old Julio Almaraz Hernandez of Brenham failed his field sobriety test.

He is charged with Driving While Intoxicated, second offense.

 

Sunday morning, Officer Terrence Johnson responded to the 4000 block of SH 36 South in reference to a man sleeping in a vehicle that was still running.

Johnson says he could smell the odor of marijuana and alcohol coming from inside.

The driver, 34-year old James Douglas Ford of Houston, was is charged with Driving While Intoxicated and Possession of Marijuana under 2 oz.

 

Also Sunday morning, Sgt. Curtiss Schoen conducted a traffic stop in the intersection of SH 36 North and Blue Bell Road.

Schoen says he could smell alcohol on the driver’s breath.

49-year old Angela Sophia West of League City, refused to perform a field sobriety test.

During a vehicle inventory, Schoen found both an open container of alcohol and alcohol in a plastic mug in the console.

West is charged with Driving While Intoxicated and having an Open Container of Alcohol.
