BRENHAM SUBDIVISION EXPECTED HAVE WATER BY LATE THIS AFTEROON

Residents of a Brenham subdivision are without running water today (Monday), and have been since Sunday afternoon.

Over 150 homes in the Oak Hill Acres subdivision, three miles north of Brenham on Highway 36 are without water.

Michael Connally of PGMS….the company responsible for maintaining the Oak Hill Water District system, says water should be back on by Monday afternoon.

Callers were not given a reason Sunday, as to why there was no water….just that the water district was “out of water”.

Connally says some bolts apparently sheared off between the pump and motor, causing the pump to fail.

He says a replacement pump and motor are being installed and should have water running by Monday afternoon.

Connally says once the water is back on, a Boil Water notice will be in effect until further notice.  He expects everything to be back to normal by Wednesday.

Work began in late 2015 on a backup water well for the water district, but it has not been completed.

Oak Hill Water District has been plagued with pump failures at their current well, prompting the need for a backup well.

A meeting of the Oak Hills Water District Board of Directors is scheduled for tomorrow (Tuesday) at 5:00 at the EMS building on Highway 290.  The meeting is open to all residents of Oak Hill Acres.
