EMERGENCY CREWS RESPOND TO ACCIDENT ON 36 NORTH

  

One person was injured in a one-vehicle rollover in northern Washington County, Thursday morning.

Brenham Fire Department personnel use the jaws of life to cut away the roof to extricate the driver.

 

The accident occurred just after 8:00 a.m., on Highway 36 North, approximately 1/4-of-a-mile south of the Yegua River.

The accident occurred in the center lane of the highway.

According Cpl. Jimmy Morgan of the Department of Public Safety, the woman was south bound when witnesses say she ran off the road, overcorrected, and flipped her vehicle over.

The Brenham Fire Department had to extracate the trapped driver from her vehicle.

She was taken by EMS ambulance to Scott and White Hospital Brenham with non-life threatening injuries.

Traffic was slowed to one lane in each direction before the scene was cleared.
