FORMER ROCKDALE MAYOR INDICTED FOR “INDECENCY WITH A CHILD”

The former mayor of Rockdale has been indicted by a Milam County grand jury on a charge of indecency with a child by sexual contact.
According to the Temple Daily Telegram , the investigation into 76-year old Darral Gene Walker began in July of last year after a young boy confided in a family member.
Rockdale police say Walker admitted to touching the boy.
The charge is a second-degree felony punishable by up to 20 years in prison and $10,000 in fines
Walker served as the mayor of Rockdale from 1974-1976.
