BRENHAM HERITAGE MUSEUM CLOSED FOR RENOVATION
The Brenham Heritage Museum is now closed in preparation for a renovation happening in September.
The museum closed early for the renovation because the basement of the museum experienced widespread flooding as a result of the heavy rainfall last May. The museum’s basement collection was not damaged in the flood, but the basement itself suffered damage to the walls, floors, and ceiling. In order to prepare for the renovation, the museum has hired three professionals to help document and relocate the collection kept in the basement.
Doug price, the Museum Director, says they expect to reopen by mid-September at the latest. He goes on to say that residents can expect that “… by the end of the year, Brenham will have a modern museum, completely in line with the state, national, and international standards.”
