BRENHAM HERITAGE MUSEUM SEEKS TO HIRE HISTORIAN
The Brenham Heritage Museum is trying to raise funds to hire a full-time historian.
On Thursday, the museum launched a GoFundMe page asking for donations to reach the $35,000 goal. The funds raised will be used exclusively for the salary and expenses of hiring a professional historian.
The museum wants the hired historian to research and draft a complete history of Washington County. Existing works were written decades ago and have large parts of history omitted.
The museum says that the hiring of a professional historian will not only benefit the museum, but current residents and future decedents by keeping the history of Washington County alive.
