LA GRANGE TO WELCOME NEW POLICE CHIEF
The City of La Grange will welcome a new police chief next week.
David Gilbreath will officially be sworn in as the next La Grange police chief on Monday. His predecessor, Jackie Skelton, is retiring after 20 years of serving the city in the position.
Gilbreath was unanimously voted in as police chief during a city council meeting last Monday. He was hired after a lengthy process in which 52 people expressed interest in the position. Twelve of those people completed the extensive application process, with three ultimately being chosen as finalists.
Gilbreath has spent 20 years with the La Grange Police Department. In that time, he has served as a Patrolman, Sergeant, Lieutenant and Assistant Chief. In his latest position, he’s served as a School Resource Officer.
