DARRELL MCCALL TO PERFORM AT BLUEBONNET OPRY THURSDAY
The Friends of Bluebonnet Opry will feature Darrell McCall this Thursday night at the Silver Wings Ballroom in Brenham.
McCall came to prominence as a member of the Little Dippers in 1960.
He broke away from the group the following year, and by 1963 his sound had evolved into pure country. He sang both traditional country and honkytonk during the 60s, but he eventually became devoted to dance hall country.
McCall says his show in Brenham will stick to the classics:
The doors open at 5:30 p.m. with the show starting at 7:30 p.m. Tickets are $5.00 a person and sold at the door. There is a full snack bar open serving hamburgers, hot dogs, as well as other snacks.
Through the combined efforts of the Friends of the Bluebonnet Opry, its many sponsors, and supporters, the organization has been able to make sizeable donations to local hospice care.
