BLINN BOARD TO SWEAR-IN TRUSTEES
The Blinn College Board of Trustees will meet on Tuesday to swear-in three members of the board into office.
This year, Precinct Two and Three positions and At-Large Position One were up for election.
Douglas Borchardt filed for re-election to Precinct Two, Teddy Boehm filed for re-election to Precinct Three, and Charles Moser filed for re-election to the Position One-At Large seat. With all three candidates unopposed this year, they are set to take their oaths of office during the board meeting.
In other business, the board will discuss repairs to the Student Center on the Brenham Campus.
In March, a granite panel fell from the façade of an exterior stairway at the center. The stairway, which has been closed since the incident, has extensive deterioration in multiple sealant joints in the façade. In addition, an inspection revealed the entry canopy of the Academic building is in need of repair.
The board will consider authorizing the administration to execute an agreement with Aestimo, Inc. related to the repairs.
Also during the meeting:
- The board will recognize the 100th Anniversary of the Washington County Chamber of Commerce
- President Mary Hensley will give her Administrative Report
- The board will consider approving the Proposed Vision, Mission, Core Values, and Goals for the 2017-2020 Strategic Plan
