WASHINGTON COUNTY CHAMBER ANNOUNCES PROGRAM

The Washington County Chamber of Commerce is teaming up with Brenham and Burton ISDs and Brenham Game Changers to get business involved in teaching students core values.  Students at Brenham and Burton schools already learn a core value each month.  This program will get business involved with reinforcing those core values each month.  Shae Janner, Business Programs Manager with the Chamber explains:

The program is entitled Public Education Ambassadors for Community Engagement or PEACE.  The Washington County Chamber Board of Directors chose promotion of public schools as one of its top 3 goals for 2017.  The Washington County Chamber is the first Chamber organization in the nation to implement this program.  Information on how to join the program is being sent to Chamber Members.  Introductory membership in the program is $50 per year for Chamber Members.  More details about the program is expected to be given at this year’s Education Forum hosted by the Chamber.  The forum will be on Friday, July 28th at the Blinn College Student Center Banquet Room.  Brenham Superintendent Dr. Walter Jackson and Burton Superintendent Dr. Edna Kennedy will make presentations.  Tickets are $25 for Chamber Members and can be purchased at the Chamber Office or by calling 836-3695.
