BRENHAM FIRE DEPARTMENT REPORT

On Thursday around 6:50 pm, the Brenham Fire Department was called to 707 E Sixth Street, for a gas odor at a residence.

BFD responders made entry into the residence with a gas detector to investigate the location of the gas leak. A gas valve behind a piece of furniture was determined to be leaking. The valve was reset and the leak stopped. Once the leak was stopped, BFD responders ventilated the residence with an electric fan to remove the remaining gas and odor out of the house.

On Saturday morning around 3:30AM, BFD was called to the corning of W Sixth St and High Street to a transportation incident with entrapment.

BFD responders found a Nissan Titan Extended cab truck flipped on its roof up against a house. The truck damaged the natural gas meter causing a large natural gas leak.

The driver of the truck had left the scene- there was no entrapment.

The Brenham Fire Department assisted in evacuation of the surrounding residence and monitored the air to ensure safety until City of Brenham Gas Department crews arrived and shut off the gas leak.

The incident was turned over to Law Enforcement to continue the investigation.
