EARLY VOTING FOR RUNOFFS BEGIN MAY 19TH

Washington County Republican Party Chair Ron Upchurch says it is important to know that the primary election season, the party nominating process is not over yet.

He is reminding people that the early voting for the Republican and Democratic Parties runoff begins Monday, May 19th and election day is the day after Memorial Day, May 27th.

There is one local race that has yet to be decided.  Bill Kendall and Robin Luedtke are vying to become the next Justice of the Peace Precinct Four.

There are hotly contested races statewide including the one for the Republican nomination for Lieutenant Governor between incumbent David Dewhurst and State Senator Dan Patrick.

Democrats are taking a special look at their choice for the U.S. Senate nomination to challenge incumbent John Cornyn.  David Alameel has the support of the Democratic party establishment but he is facing a run off from Lyndon LaRouche follower Kesha Rogers.

The Republicans and Democrats have jointly decided to consolidate polling stations for this run off election.

Early voting will be in the Washington County Courthouse Annex from 8am to five pm, from Monday, May 19th through Friday, May 23rd.
