ESCAPE ATTEMPT BRINGS ADDITIONAL CHARGE

  

A Burton man slipped out of his handcuffs and escaped Monday on his way to jail.  Brenham Police report at 11:50 PM, a traffic stop was initiated in the 800 block of South Jackson Street. The driver, Kedrick McNeil, 28 of Burton, was arrested for Driving While License Invalid, enhanced due to his license being suspended and for two outstanding warrants, Driving While License Invalid and Violate Promise to Appear.  While in route to the jail, McNeil was able to remove his handcuffs and flee from the arresting officer. He was apprehended after a brief foot pursuit and additionally charged with Evading Arrest or Detention.
