Brenham VFW Post 7104 was recently donated a new flag receptacle by a local company.

Charles and Pam Schubert of Schubert Sheet Metal donated the new receptacle, to use for drop-off of United States flags no longer suitable for display.  The receptacle was given in honor of the Schuberts’ grandson, U.S. Army Specialist 4 Zachary Mertz.

Post officials say Senior Vice Commander Tommy Williams was instrumental in the completion of the project, adding that Joe Barham painted the receptacle and his wife, Crystal, performed the decal application.

VFW Post 7104, located in Brenham at 1200 East Tom Green Street, encourages the public to properly dispose of flags no longer suitable for display, or fold and place them inside the new receptacle.
